Taking your bridal photos indoors does not have to mean plain white walls as your only background. Though I do love a simple studio shoot, as you can see throughout my past work, the venue that Maddi and Dima choose for their bridal session was extra stunning.

What I love about this venue is the detailed ivory walls and diamond lighting add a new level of elegance to these photos, while it is still minimal and classic enough to dress up however you choose. I’ve had the opportunity to shoot here multiple times, including during this styled royal wedding inspired shoot where we filled the space with shades of blue.

Maddie chose more traditional touches like a bouquet of garden roses in mauve and off-whites and a simple veil which perfectly complemented her ivory satin wedding dress.

Dima’s choice of a blue suit over a black tuxedo brought an element of comfortable and casual while still being formal enough to match with Maddie’s details. This effortless combo of formal and familiar is something Maddie and Dima have achieved every time I have photographed them, without fail.

I believe it is important to consider how the location of your engagement photos and your bridals will complement each other. Most likely photos from both shoots will be printed and on display throughout your wedding reception, and you want to make sure they feel cohesive and match the style of your decor.

Maddie and Dima’s engagement shoot at the Utah State Capitol building is a perfect example of this. The outdoor photos are certainly more casual than these bridals, but the powerful location and their outfit choices flow seamlessly with these photographs.
