Jiichan's Book

This is my Jiichan’s first Book of Mormon

The missionaries came to his all-boys Buddhist high school and taught a Bible class

Jiichan started meeting with the missionaries but his father was against his joining the church.

He waited 6 years to be baptized. He held callings and served in the church and many thought he was a member at the time.

Jiichan received this Book of Mormon from Elder Tadd, the first missionary to teach him the gospel. It includes many signatures, including the past prophet, Joseph Fielding Smith.

Of all of the high schools the missionaries could have chosen to teach their Bible class, they chose my Jiichan’s. Both he and a biology teacher were baptized because of their efforts.

This book changed the course of my Jiichan’s life, and subsequently the lives of my whole family as well.

His legacy lives on through Baachan, and through me.
