LA DECEMBER 2018

My brother Peter and I decided to go to LA for a couple of days before Christmas.

Pete had an airline companion pass that needed to be used before the end of the year, so we scanned ticket prices and decided to go to the cheapest place. California.

My finals finished on Wednesday. We left Thursday morning and came back Friday night. It was a quick trip, but the perfect warm vacation! I love spending time with Peter.

In our short time, we had a lot of fun! After dropping off our luggage at the hotel, we headed to Venice Beach and Santa Monica Pier.

We rode the ferris wheel and laid on the beach.

The light flooding in under this pier took my breath away.

I started reading The Artist’s Way. I hadn’t made the time to read during the semester, so being able to read on the beach was perfectly relaxing.

The colors of the sunset on the waves was breathtaking.

That night, my mission friend Trumbo picked us up and took us to see the Los Angeles temple lights. Every year the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Los Angeles temple puts up beautiful Christmas lights. Pete and I had never seen them before, so we went and checked them out.

We came back late that night and watched La La Land in our hotel room. How fitting, seeing that we were in LA and the movie was based in Los Angeles.

After a morning swim, Pete and I headed out to soak up some sun before we came home.

It was soooo warm. We walked around town, ate Mexican food, and went to an art museum.

It was a fun, quick trip with Peter. I love being close to my brother! Spending time with him is the best.
