Planning a Feminine and Romantic Wedding Luncheon

Planning a wedding often becomes a mismatched attempt at combining a lot of differing opinions. Combining your mother’s ideas with your mother-in-laws input with your fiancé’s sudden opinions all while trying to have a voice of your own! This should feel like your big day! But it’s easy to start feeling a little bridezilla. That is why taking any opportunity to make parts of your wedding day feel 100% YOU is so important.

If you have very involved family members, the easiest way to can be to designate parts of your wedding plans that you want a complete say, and separating parts where you don’t mind letting go of some creative control. Of course, as the bride you should always get the last word, but sometimes compromising can keep your bridal bliss intact.

One part of your wedding day where you can really let your unique style shine is your wedding luncheon! It is the perfect opportunity to go all out with feminine touches. You can use a little less pink in your ceremony and reception, but reserve the luncheon to create the look of your girlhood daydreams.

I was lucky enough to work with an amazing group of Utah wedding vendors for this romantic late summer wedding luncheon packed with dainty and detailed inspiration. This look would also be amazing for a bridal shower or bachelorette dinner party. Keep reading to see how you can recreate a similar look!

How to Add Feminine Touches to Your Wedding Luncheon

Use Pink Tones Paired With Neutrals

Using additional pink tones such as maroon and mauve next to tans and ivories add depth to your color scheme fit for any blushing bride. Using the bouquet as the inspiration for the full color scheme allowed for pairing bright whites and creamy off-whites together, creating a vintage feel with updated and modern overtones.

Kadee from Little Lady Floral really set the tone for the entire luncheon with this bouquet filled with garden roses and a nod toward vintage lovers. Think a golden age whirlwind romance and pink roses tucked between book pages.

Use Floral Motifs Throughout Every Detail

Continuing motifs throughout every area of your wedding choices adds to the full experience. And will leave your guests in awe that you truly thought of every last detail.

These veil from ALP Bridal is covered in embroidered roses that perfectly match the bouquet! I love the idea of having a special veil just for the luncheon theme, and changing to a simpler one for the reception.

The rose motif was also continued throughout the invitation stationery, to give guests a taste of what they would experience from the moment they opened their envelope!

Spend More Time on The Details

There will not be much time to snap detail shots during your wedding day, which is why I always recommend doing it during your bridal shoot. However, your luncheon can be a great time to style these sorts of photographs as well!

Plan with your photographer to capture images your rings, shoes, veil, invites, florals, and the other small details of your wedding. Not only are details like these important to consider when planning a feminine wedding luncheon, but you will want photos of them to remember!

Use Fruits Amid Florals For a Garden Party Feel

Flowers are the natural go-to when you think “romantic” but adding unexpected touches such as fruit can elevate your theme. Jessica from LUSTR did this perfectly by adding figs and wild grapes to the top of this simple one tier cake. Because yes, you deserve a cake at your luncheon too!

Using fruits with a similar color scheme to your florals will make everything flow beautifully.

Plan Light and Airy Wedding Photography

One major benefit of planning gorgeous table settings and decor during your luncheon is your photographer can capture natural light photographs at that time!

Though my photography experience helps me capture natural and bright photos even during your evening reception, the innocent and dainty feel of this feminine wedding luncheon is best captured during the day.

Rent Vintage Table Settings

Adding formal dinnerware to your daytime wedding luncheon will make it feel like a dreamy grown up tea party. You can often find rentals in your area like these from Utah Vintage Rentals to complete your look. These intentional choices are what create a romantic feel with vintage touches, without feeling stuffy or outdated.

The metals you chose also have a big impact on the overall feel of your event. Gold always feels more aged, while silver is modern. Here gold touches are continued not just throughout the flatware and candlesticks, but even to custom touches like the wax seals on the invitations.
